The Three True Things

Does it frustrate you (to say it politely) when health-related advice flip-flops? “Every woman should take HRT (hormone replacement therapy) post-menopause.” Maybe not.

“Low-fat diets based on a foundation of healthy complex carbs are the best way to lose weight.” Or maybe there are some fats that are actually good for you. Or maybe we eat too many carbohydrates, of all kinds.

“High cholesterol is bad!” Except that some cholesterol is good. I’m sure you can think of your own examples. What’s a person to believe?

There are three things I’d be willing to “bet the farm on”.

1.     Smoking is really bad for your health.

2.    Exercise is really good for your health.

3.    We all need to eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

 

If you want to improve your health by making some lifestyle changes, start with those Three True Things. You won’t be sorry you did!
